Detailed Job Description
The Optometrist will perform objective and subjective refraction, visual-acuity testing, preliminary ocular history taking, contact-lens assessment and dispensing guidance, basic screening for common eye concerns and pre-consultation preparation for ophthalmologists. The role includes using diagnostic equipment as assigned, maintaining calibration and cleanliness of optometry instruments, explaining spectacle or lens prescriptions, educating patients on eye care and follow-up, recording findings accurately in the clinic system and escalating red-flag symptoms to the doctor without delay. The candidate will also coordinate with front-office, optical sales and clinical staff to support smooth patient flow while avoiding over-promising on clinical outcomes.

The ideal candidate should be accurate, courteous and comfortable dealing with patients of different age groups. They should have strong refraction skills, an understanding of common eye conditions, confidence using optometry equipment and the ability to explain prescriptions in simple language.
